The Global Health Knowledge Hub joint conference, hosted alternate years at Northwestern University and Stellenbosch University, is an exciting opportunity to draw together global health researchers, educators, and students to celebrate and discover more about global health research, education, and outreach efforts throughout the world.
The upcoming conference will be held in-person on 17 – 18 March 2025 at Stellenbosch University. Students, faculty, community members and partners from all disciplines are welcome to participate and apply to take part.

Call for Abstracts

All accepted applicants will receive more details about the presentation format, presenter expectations, and poster guidelines.
Paper and Poster Presentations
- Proposals should be 300-400 words in length and include:
- Title of paper/presentation
- Proposed sub-theme
- Presenter(s) details: Name, institutional affiliation, email address(es)
- Outline of presentation specifying the nature of existing of proposed research/project, and how it relates to the goals of the meeting.
Panel or Networking Sessions
- Panel sessions will comprise 4-5 participants. Sessions will be themed around a specific topic (e.g. collaboration opportunities in student training; best practice and innovation in climate action; establishing partnerships in funding and training resources). Sessions should explore how to deepen collaboration and concrete ways of achieving this.
- Networking sessions will comprise 4-5 representatives from different sectors (i.e. academia and research, industry, government/public policy institutions and business). These sessions will aim to develop recommendations for multi-stakeholder collaboration that furthers the goals of the meeting and will identify concrete steps towards implementation.
- Proposals should be 300-400 words in length and should detail:
- Title of panel or networking session
- Proposed sub-theme
- Objective(s) and proposed content of the session; and
- Names, affiliations and email addresses of panelists or networking participants.
