SU/NU Global Health Knowledge Hub Official Launch
The numerous challenges in global health, such as climate change and disease, transcend national boundaries, and no single university or research group can solve these alone. What’s needed is a multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approach. Universities, therefore, should be global in outlook while deeply engaged with local communities.
Funded Projects
To support research collaborations between Northwestern University and Stellenbosch University, the Global Health Research Catalyzer grant provides support to Northwestern faculty through dedicated SU/NU Global Health Knowledge Hub funding. All projects require a significant component of the study to be based in a low or middle-income country. These projects feature primary investigators from Northwestern who are members of the Havey Institute for Global Health and who have partnered faculty from Stellenbosch.
Building Bidirectional Global Health Partnerships in South Africa with Hester Klopper, PhD
In this podcast, Dr. Rob Murphy welcomes Dr. Hester Klopper, Deputy-Vice Chancellor of Strategy, Global and Corporate Affairs at Stellenbosch University, South Africa. The two discuss the new Stellenbosch University/Northwestern University Global Health Knowledge Hub (SUNU Hub) which has been designed to unite the universities, broaden their scope of expertise and discovery and offer more opportunities for international collaborations between students, trainees, staff and faculty.
